This piece is a study in prominent, intentional joinery. We start with a heavy, 1.5" thick round solid wood top. Instead of just mounting it to a base underneath, the three plate steel legs are mortised all the way through the tabletop so the steel is visible from above. We left an intentional 1/8" shadow gap around the steel inserts, turning a structural connection into a subtle, floating design element.
Materials: Solid White Oak or Black Walnut; Carbon steel
Wood Finish: Zero-VOC hard-wax oil that enhances the natural wood tones
Metal Finish: Hand-applied reactive patina finish in Blackened or Japanese Brown tones with oil sealer
Dimensions: Available in a 36" or 42" diameter (16" height)

NOTE: We use real, solid hardwoods and celebrate the natural character and beauty of the wood. Each table is unique in wood grain, slight color tone variations, and might include small, filled/stabilized knots and checking. We don’t try to hide the way natural made the tree, but rather embrace it. Our metal patinas are hand applied and each piece of steel reacts in a unique way including beautiful shifting color tones and hues that are an intentional, inherent part of the “living finish”.
